What We’re Seeing in the Dallas Job Market

Office hiring is leading the metro. Professional and Business Services added 23,500 jobs over the year through July 2026, up 3.0%, more than any other sector in Dallas-Fort Worth, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That category covers much of the accounting, administrative, and customer service work in the area. If that is your field, employers are adding seats. Accounting, administrative, and customer service roles are our core specialties.

Accounting jobs are shifting between industries. Financial Activities, which covers banks, insurers, and real estate firms, lost 4,100 jobs over the year through July, a 1.0% decline. The BLS counts a job under the employer’s industry, so an accountant at a bank and one at a professional services firm land in different sectors. If you work in accounting, widen your search beyond banks and insurers. Our accounting and finance staffing team works with employers across industries.

More people are looking for work. The Dallas-Fort Worth unemployment rate was 4.6% in July 2026, up from 4.2% a year earlier, while the national rate eased to 4.4%. Dallas County came in at 4.7%, the highest of the four largest counties in the metro. More competition makes a tailored resume and a recruiter who can present you directly to the employer worth more than they were a year ago. Submit your resume and our team will match you with roles that fit.

Dallas pay goes further. Average weekly wages in the Dallas-Fort Worth area were $1,785 in the first quarter of 2026, compared with $1,654 nationally. Consumer prices here rose 2.9% over the 12 months ending July 2026, against 3.4% for the U.S. city average. Keep both numbers in mind when you compare offers.
