What We’re Seeing in the Dallas Job Market

  • Energy industry hiring stays steady downtown. Dallas remains a major hub for the oil and gas industry, and downtown energy firms continue to hire experienced lease analysts, contracts administrators, and senior accountants. If you’ve spent time in energy, three of this edition’s four featured roles fit that exact profile.
  • Experienced professionals have more leverage. The Dallas-Fort Worth Professional and Business Services sector lost 21,700 positions year-over-year through December 2025, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. That means accounting, finance, and admin pros who weren’t actively looking 18 months ago are open to the right opportunity, and Dallas employers know it.
  • Dallas continues to outpace the national market. DFW ended 2025 at 3.6% unemployment, well below the 4.1% national rate. Job growth has slowed to its lowest point since 2021, but hiring managers are moving fast on quality candidates. If you’re job searching, expect interviews and offers to move quickly.
