How has it been 20 years since PrideStaff North Dallas opened its doors?

 

Sometimes, it feels like only yesterday. But when I look around at all the changes that have occurred and consider all we’ve learned, I realize how far our team has come. In honor of our 20th anniversary, we’re sharing our most valuable business lessons in a series of 12 posts.

As PrideStaff North Dallas was preparing to open our doors two decades ago, Y2K fears had reached a fever pitch. Across the globe, people feared that computer systems would crash and planes would fall out of the sky when the calendar flipped…

 

…and of course that didn’t happen.

 

Throughout the past 20 years, technology has dramatically impacted the staffing industry. Classified newspaper ads and the recruiter’s trusty little black book have been replaced by programmatic advertising and applicant tracking systems. Sales brochures have been supplanted by responsive websites. And now, many professionals in our industry worry that new tools like temp apps and AI video-screening technology will drive the “human” right out of our industry.

 

…but we know that won’t happen.

 

Decades ago, the PrideStaff team realized two fundamental truths about technology:

  1. It brings positive changes we can use to our competitive advantage.
  2. People will always be needed in staffing and hiring.

 

Technology will continue driving time and operational efficiencies in all aspects of HR, but the people component of making a job match will remain essential. AI has a long way to go before it’s able to detect the small nuances that deliver the right culture or management-style fit!

 

The trick is to balance the right tech with a human touch and iron-clad processes. And that’s exactly what we do here.
